Eco Rainbow 9in Regular PLUS Pads Overview

Eco Rainbow 9in regular plus pads are ideal for use as a pad for a regular day such as mid period. The pad secures around your underwear by a popper keeping it securely in place. Eco Rainbow are one of our handmade brands and the quality and workmanship is first rate. All our pads are handmade in the UK by Bex.

Eco Rainbow Menstrual Pad Fabric Construction

Fabric top is either made of cotton, jersey or plush (which is similar to Minky fabric).
Absorbent core is made of Zorb.
Backing - Fleece

The 9in regular PLUS are made WITHOUT PUL as the fleece is enough protection against leaks.

Benefits of Fabric Types

  • Cotton & Jersey - This topping in commonly seen on our handmade pads. It is a very breathable fabric and if you have sensitive skin then this natural fabric will be a great choice. It can be slow at absorbing so if you have a particularly heavy or gushy flow then you may prefer a different topping.
  • Plush - his is synthetic fabric and one of the quickest absorbing toppings available.

Just what I needed

I no longer bleed, but do "tinkle when I sneeze" (or lift a hefty grandchild) and trying to do my bit for the planet and not put panty liners into landfill. I bought 3 Bloom & Nora "Nora Midi 3 Pack Watercolour Rainbow", which are backed with a waterproof outer layer made from recycled plastic - I wasn't sure that just fleece would stay dry. I also bought one each of Eco Rainbow 9" plus (purple birds), Fanny Paddams 10" regular CSP (lightening) and Red Rags 10" regular pad (Butterfly). So of the 6 pads, after 4-5 washes, the fleece on the Fanny Paddams, Red Rags and Eco Rainbows is pilling, but that isn't a problem, and the pretty knit fabric on RRs and FPs is fine, as is the woven fabric on the Ecos. All 4 brands kept me dry with no smell (fleece does work!) The Noras with their outside binding are visible at the back in stretch jeggings if I'm bent right over. I like the shape of the FPs and RRs, although I wonder if they would be wide enough for a lady bigger than me, especially the Eco which is smaller (all are narrower than the crotch on some of my standard knickers). Overall, I'll buy the Red Rags and Fanny Paddams again happily. 4 stars for the Eco Rainbow as it is quite a bit smaller than the others, but maybe that was my poor choosing. I wash them with my towels, the load I don't add fabric conditioner to.

Good quality finish and comfy to wear. Also love the fact that the fleece is a dark colour and not white. Would be helpful to state which way round it should be worn (patterned fabric side up), and would be good if you could stock the 10” heavier flow pads for night use, and/or the ones that include a layer of PUL, as these are amazing.
