Product Information

The Nixit menstrual disc like a menstrual cup is made to sit internally and collect menstrual fluid. The Nixit menstrual disc has a larger capacity compared to cups and holds upto 70ml which is the equivalent of 4 tampons, making it ideal for those with heavy periods. The Nixit disc has a unique double rim that helps protect against leaks but also the rim is slightly softer than it's competitors. The Nixit menstrual disc stays in naturally and does not suction in place like a menstrual cup. The unique circular shape of the disc easily conforms to your body, all these features make the Nixit a great choice for those who have had any difficulty or discomfort with other interanally worn menstrual products.

The Nixit menstrual disc is made in Canada and is made from 100% BPA Free medical grade silicone. It is free of chemicals and toxins. As it only collects menstrual fluid it will not dry you out or disrupt your vaginal environment.

Nixit is only available in one size so no confusing sizes for you to choose from and no awkward folds to learn.

How To Insert Your Nixit Disc-

1. Pinch the two edges together to make a long shape

2. Insert into your vagina past your cervix

3. Use your finger to tilt the cup so it sits length ways in your vagina.

To Remove-

1. Hook your finger under the rim and slowly pull the cup down.

2. Discard fluid into the toilet

3. Rinse and Reinsert.

Due to its soft body the Nixit can be a bit messier to remove and empty so it is worth baring that in mind.

Bought the disc after reading around lots of reviews. However I have found so far that it's not the easiest to use despite being familiar with anatomy due to using a diaphragm for years. It tends to be a bit difficult to insert and get in right place so it doesn't leak. Can be a bit messy to empty but overall after a bit of practice it is a good investment. Very comfortable and easy to clean.

Took the plunge and bought this despite the high price because it doesn't use suction to stay in place. It took a number of attempts to learn to insert it correctly, which for me is to squeeze it and insert one of the narrow ends horizontally backwards and then down towards your rectum (feeding one side down with your fingers help rather than trying to insert the whole disc at once), then once you can't go any further back or down, pull it up into place by using a Kegel type squeeze. Lubrication would also be a big help if you are trying this before your period. I still use a reusable pad in case of any occasional leaks on my heaviest days but this is a big improvement on the 5-6 pads a day I was previously getting through. I find I can empty the disc without removing it by bearing down when on the toilet, so only remove it once a day when in the shower. I've also worn it while swimming without any issues, just make sure to empty it first. Overall very pleased but wish these were cheaper to make them more accessible and encourage us try the reusable option - it's disappointing that the price has gone up by 10 since I bought this.
